Douglas Wind and the Windspeed Motorsports SRT-4

1. What kind of car do you race and what class do you run in?
I run a Dodge SRT-4 in the Redline Time Attack, Super Lap Battle and NASA-TT series'. In RTA and SLB I have previously competed in the Street FWD class and hold the National Championship for both series' for that class. In 2010 (in search of more competition) I left the car in "Street" trim and moved up to the "Modified" class and thusfar I have still been the dominant car in the class. In NASA-TT I compete in the TTS catergory and during my last outing at Road Atlanta, ran a 1:33.3 lap.

2. How long has racing been your passion?
I began road racing in 2006 and have been completely addicted to the sport ever since. I had done several years of autocross in college, but had gotten out of motorsports for several years until my return in '06.

3. What modifications are done to your car?
Just about everything on the car has been modified. The most unique features are found in the suspension where to accomodate larger wheels we manufactured custom billet hubs with a 5x114.3 bolt pattern. On those unique hubs we have mounted 18x9.5" Enkei RPF1's with 285/30/18 Continental Extreme DW tires on all four corners. The car also has the only set of coilover JRZ suspension ever produced for an SRT-4. Additionally the care has a competition legal 8 point roll cage and a pair of RaceTech seats to keep the driver safe in case of an accident. A Forced Performance turbocharger, a Performance CNC PnP'd head and DCR (Darrell Cox Racing) engine internals power the car with a usable 450whp/445wtq.

4. What made you choose SPEC clutch for your race car?
After meeting David at several Super Lap Battle and Redline Time Attack events and discussing the quality of SPEC clutches and the available option for the SRT-4, it was a simple decision to go with a proven part from a high quality U.S. manufacturer!

5.What is the fastest time you have run with your car?
In road course racing a "fastest time" all depends on the track. What I can tell you is that the Windspeed Motorsports SRT-4 currently holds track records at the following facilities:
NJMP - Thunderbolt Course (RTA)
VIR - Patriot Course (RTA)
Autobahn Country Club - South Course (RTA)
Nashville Speedway - Infield "Roval" Course (RTA)
Carolina Motorsports Park - Full "New" Course (RTA)
Englishtown Raceway Park - Full Course (RTA)
ButtonWillow Raceway (CA) - CW #13 Config. (SLB Finals)
AutoClub Speedway (CA) - Infield "Roval" Course (RTA Finals)
NJMP - Lightning Course (RTA)
